James "Sam" Bradford has been a community leader in Jackson for many years. His career started as a young man and a member of the Campus Chapter of the NAACP at historically black Tougaloo College in the 1960's. Mr Bradford as a young student participated in the first "sit in" of a public library in Jackson, MS. He was arrested and spent 36 hours in jail. The group of nine students became known as the Tougaloo Nine. He tries to continue the ideas and beliefs of Medgar Evers.
